The garment industry has a massive waste problem, since even the most efficient pattern-cutting process uses only 90% of the fabric, with the remaining 10% going to waste. Meanwhile linen 'rag' from the garment industry used to be used in paper-making over 100 years ago, but this has become less and less common.
We've collaborated with Community Clothing and Paper Foundation, to transform denim offcuts collected in the cutting room at Community Clothing's jeans factory in Lancashire, into beautiful hand-made papers.
The Mark+Fold for Community Clothing range is available now and includes Notebooks in all 3 of Community Clothing's denim colours (Black, Indigo and Blue), in both A5 and A6 format. We have also used the Indigo to make an extra special and very limited Special Edition 2025 Diary.
