Why this role is important to Mark+Fold

To celebrate our 10th Birthday this November, we are hosting a pop-up shop in London to offer customers old and new an opportunity to come and see our stationery in the flesh. Given the tactile nature of our products, this is an exciting opportunity for us to connect with our existing community and introduce the brand to new people. 

The shop will be open daily from 10am-6pm (12-6pm Sundays) plus a series of evening events with collaborators and friends, such as Huma Qureshi, Margo Selby and Patrick Grant.

We pride ourselves on being warm and helpful to our customers, and have built great loyalty among our existing customer base. So our customer-facing shop staff will play an integral role, not just in presenting the shop and our products in an attractive (and meticulously organised fashion) but also greeting customers with a warm and friendly manner.


Who you are


  • You appreciate what Mark+Fold is all about and would relish the opportunity to be part of our team during this exciting milestone
  • You are enthusiastic about stationery, paper and organisation
  • You are neat and organised, with good presentation skills
  • You might have some retail experience, though this is not essential
  • You are friendly and confident chatting to customers
  • You are keen to learn about our brand and products, in order to communicate this to customers

Once here you will

  • Greet customers as they arrive in the shop, answering any questions they may have
  • Process orders and take payments, as well as carefully wrapping items in our house style
  • Help maintain high standards of order and cleanliness in the shop throughout the day (this does not include cleaning, which is carried out by a separate team out of hours)
  • Assist with unloading new stock deliveries and arranging stock on shelvesSupport with additional ad hoc tasks and errands that may arise

Practicalities

  • The role is based in our pop-up shop at 228 Brick Lane, London E2 7EE.
  • The pop-up runs from 12th-25th November (plus set-up and soft opening on 10th and 11th November).
  • Hours will be in shifts between the hours of 10am and 6pm, with some evening events finishing at 10pm.
