About Mark+Fold

Mark+Fold is a modern British stationery brand, founded in 2015 to raise the bar on quality and sustainability. We design and manufacture our own stationery products, working closely with specialist suppliers in the UK and Europe.

Our customers are connoisseurs who appreciate our attention to detail and value the friendly, efficient service we provide. Our mission is to help them get in the zone, so they can make great things happen.

Why this role is important to Mark+Fold

This is an opportunity to join the team during an exciting period of growth, to help build on the systems we have in place and adapt them as we grow. As Operations and Merchandising Manager, you will ensure that the day-to-day running of the business is smooth and organised, from managing inventory and website listings, to looking after customers and ensuring a seamless service with our fulfilment team. You will play crucial role in our commercial growth, developing merchandising initiatives that balance sales performance with brand integrity.

This role is perfect for someone with experience in operations, merchandising or ecommerce, looking for a challenging role with lots of independence, and a chance to have a big impact in growing an inspiring design and values-led brand.

Once here, you will

    • Oversee day-to-day operations across inventory, fulfilment, customer experience and cashflow.
    • Own inventory management, forecasting and replenishment planning, to ensure strong stock availability while minimising excess inventory and working capital exposure.
    • Take a lead on merchandising plans that balance commercial performance with brand integrity. Analyse sales and product performance to inform buying, range planning and pricing decisions.
    • Manage the e-commerce platform, ensuring listings are accurate and optimised for performance (conversion, AOV, retention).
    • Manage relationships with customers and fulfilment team, ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently, whilst building systems to simplify and streamline this process as we grow.
    • Work with the Founder to manage cashflow, forecasting and growth initiatives.

    What success looks like

      • Inventory is tightly managed, with restocks planned in good time, and stock shelf-life kept to a minimum.
      • Merchandising strategies are regularly updated based on recent data, and these are clearly communicated to the whole team to inform buying decisions and marketing priorities.
      • Website is clear and up to date, listings are accurate and compelling, key pages are regularly updated to highlight the products customers most want to see.
      • Customers feel valued and issues are resolved quickly and effectively, with the right balance of automation to help deliver great service, while maintaining our human connection with customers.
      • The fulfilment team are clear on expectations and customer orders are being shipped correctly and on time. Minor issues are dealt with as hoc and recurring issues are flagged and mitigated.
      • Forecasts are accurate and support a smooth operation in terms of stock buying, sales initiatives and cashflow.

      • You have strong commercial instincts and are highly motivated to meet targets

      • You are comfortable using a range of digital software such as Shopify, Xero, Mintsoft or similar, and happy adopting new platforms as needed.
