Extract papers are made at the James Cropper Mill in Cumbria, using a mixture of FSC-certified pulp from sustainably-managed forests and used coffee cups collected at high street outlets in the UK. For many years the challenge was in removing the waterproof coating on the inside of the cups, but the mill we work with has developed a technique for removing the waste plastic, which is then used to make components for the aeronautical industry.
