    2017 DIARY

    , ,
Our 2017 Diary has now sold out, however the 2018 Diary will be available from Summer 2017. If you would like to reserve a copy now, please send us an email. — Limited edition of 200, November 2016. This year we are very excited to add our first Diary to the Mark+Fold range. Combining the best materials and binding techniques we have come across, we carried out research with diary users to develop a brief, and collaborated with Swiss-German graphic designer Catherine Nippe to design the clean, simple layout. Like our Notebook Mark One, the Diary features Ota-binding for an elegant, effortless lay flat. The Diary is printed using traditional offset lithography, and bound in Holland by the renowned Binderij Hexspoor. We sampled over 100 white papers to select Olin Smooth Cream 120gsm which is milled in Aberdeenshire. It is wonderfully smooth and thick enough to prevent ink showing through. The cover is made from heavy 350gsm stock, milled in the Lake District. The cobalt blue cover is offset with subtle detailing in matt gold foil. The design is inspired by our in-depth discussions with diary users, who told us about how they use their diary day-to-day. We developed a brief based on the principle that your diary should inspire you to make plans and feel organised. We wanted to offer the maximum writing space on each spread, and avoid anything in the layout that would cause an obstruction to your thought process. We were told that, as well as listing appointments, it would be useful to have some list-writing and note-taking space on the page; that some divisions were helpful, but anything too prescriptive could be annoying. We chose the Verlag typeface for its simplicity, elegance and legibility, and the diary is printed in Pantone ink throughout to match the colour of the cover. A5 Diary (December 2016 — January 2018). Printed offset litho Pantone 295U to match the cover stock. Ota-bound in Netherlands by Binderij Hexspoor. 112 pages Olin Smooth Cream 120gsm. Cover 350gsm Colorplan Cobalt, with details in matt gold foil Luxor 429.
